Out of the Blue's Jellycat Adventures - Remembrance Day 2022
Posted on
On the 11/11/2022 Bun Bun Bunny joins the Rememberance Gathering at Out of the Blue hosted by Wrendale Elvis Owl.
Bun Bun comes across the Remembrance group of Jellycat Bruce Bush Baby, Jellycat Huggady Puppy (his first remembrance gathering) and Jellycat Dickensian Bear.
Elvis Owl had brought along some items from the shop including A 1940's Childhood and Spitfire Book as well as Remembrace Poppy Jewellery to help him recount different tales and the meanings behind them from the Wars (WW1, WW2, Falklands and Gulf War).
Elvis is trying to encourage the Young Huggady Puppy to learn about Remembrance as it is his first group visit and has told him that he can choose the book from which a passage will be read with both featuring fascinating information from World War 2.
Bun Bun asked Elvis what the significance of the Poppy is as there are other pieces of jewellery in the shop that are just as nice.
Elvis replied that the Poppy was chosen as a symbol to represent remembrance after WW1 where they grew on the battlefields and has continued as the emblem for WW2 and the following wars.
We must never forget the immeasurable sacrifice made by all of our armed forces past, present and future, which is why the poppy and the 11/11 is so important.
After a reading from Elvis Bun Bun and the group took part in a 2 minute silence of remembrance at 11pm at night like they had done in the shop at 11am in the morning, so that all the Jellycats and Wrendale Animals could show their respect.
We hope that you will join us in our 2 minutes silence at 11am on the 11th November 2022!
